Industrial rectangular lens LED bench magnifier

Optimised for industrial applications, the WAVE LED professional bench magnifier provides maximum clarity, flexibility and stability for any manufacturing, quality assurance, manipulation, or general examination task.

WAVE LED, UV and ESD bench magnifiers incorporate the same design excellence adopted throughout Vision Engineering’s award-winning stereo microscopes, providing maximum clarity, flexibility and stability.

Shadow-free magnification

WAVE LED offers shadow-free magnification and 3D viewing with the independently controlled left and right illumination. The 3D-feature is especially useful when working with circuit boards and similar delicate objects in inspection and rework applications.

Flexible working positions

Our magnifiers are specially designed to maximize horizontal and vertical movement. They provide significant horizontal reach and will always stay in the right position without drifting.

The arms are balanced by spring systems which ensure smooth and easy positioning – no knobs to tighten, nothing to adjust.

The flexibility of the self-balancing arm and friction-free joint between the head and arm makes exact positioning easy. The fully-enclosed neck design is ideal for mechanical, electronics, circuit boards, dental and jewellery and other precision applications.

Importance of light quality

Good lighting reduces the risk of health problems, increases safety and enhances productivity.

Hence great importance is placed on the light quality of our illuminated magnifiers having powerful luminators with excellent light output. The quality and exact positioning of the light sources in relation to the lens allows for virtually shadow-free magnification and excellent colour rendering capabilities.

Glass lens for superb clarity and comfort

The quality of the WAVE LED starts with its high performance optical glass lens which provides superb clarity. The crown glass lens has a lower refractive index than plastic lens bench magnifiers. This reduces the loss of light in transmission through the lens and there is less distortion of the image.

Less distortion makes for more comfortable viewing over longer periods of time.

Frequently asked questions

Below you can find some of the most common questions.

Can my Vision LUXO magnify more than 5D?2020-07-13T21:55:19+00:00

Yes. it is possible to add the STAYS lenses to the magnifiers to increase the magnification. The maximum total magnification possible is 4.75x

What if I can’t fit the edge clamp to my desk?2020-07-13T21:55:38+00:00

The edge clamp has an opening of appoximately 55mm. If a desk is too thick for the edge clamp, table bushing and surface mounts are also available

What is the difference between 3D and 3X?2020-07-13T21:56:31+00:00

Dioptre is the most common unit used for expressing magnification for low magnification optical systems sich as bench magnifiers. It is the same term as is encountered at the optician when calculating magnification for spectacles. 1 dioptre adds 0.25x in magnification. So 3D (3 dioptres) is normal magnification plus 3 lots of 0.25 = 1.75x.

What is the difference between 3D lighting compared to a ring-light?2020-07-13T21:56:14+00:00

Ring-lights are great for giving even illumination and allowing every detail to be seen clearly. 3D lighting allows the introduction of a controlled amount of shadow which helps the brain understand depth within the image.

What is the shadeneck2020-07-13T21:55:58+00:00

The shadeneck is the design feature which covers the neck mechanism with a special gator to prevent FOD falling on the subject. The shadeneck removes the need for locking screws and knobs as it perfectly balances the head whatever the position.
