Sahajanand Medical Technologies (SMT), based in Gujarat in India, recently purchased the 5,000th Lynx EVO to come off the production line at Vision Engineering’s cutting-edge manufacturing facility in the UK.
Leading developer and manufacturer of coronary stent systems, SMT has a reputation for its commitment to innovation and outstanding quality. This is due in part to its robust inspection processes, which utilise almost 50 Vision Engineering systems.
Mark Curtis, Managing Director of Vision Engineering says ‘SMT has been a valued customer for almost a decade, making its first purchase of our equipment in January 2011. We are gratified that SMT continue to choose our products as part of its continued commitment to delivering quality products.’
The excellent depth perception and high quality images seen through the Lynx EVO make it the perfect choice for inspecting the surface finish of the innovative biodegradable polymer coating used on the medical coronary stents. However, these are not the only reasons that the company has chosen to use the Lynx EVO.
Ajit Bhawar, SMT Senior Vice President – Operations explains, “We have shifts running around the clock, 365 days a year and it is important to us that our hard working staff are comfortable with the equipment that they use. The ergonomic advantages of the Lynx EVO over traditional binocular microscopes means our operators are comfortable for the duration of their shift.”
Unlike traditional binocular microscopes, the expanded pupil technology employed in the Lynx EVO allows for increased head movement, peripheral vision and hand to eye coordination. All of which contribute to improved user posture and a reduction in fatigue.
Earlier this year the Lynx EVO was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
